STYLE
Gill Sans has a style of a clean sans-serif typeface, however it has unique tails to letters and a medium variation between strokes that makes the font feel a little less geometric than most sans-serif type. The uppercase type is modeled after roman-style capitals with some modification using inspiration from Caslon and Baskerville, while the lowercase follows a Carolingian Script, which was used in the Roman Empire for Latin glyphs. Some say that when you really look at the individual letters, some seem mismatched or out of place, however the type seems to be cohesive and successful as a whole so it is not that big of a deal.
